I think that before traveling around Europe, research must be done so no shock is in order. I personally new what to expect. Others I believe are a little less aware. I assume you want to do more within Europe or even Croatia hence staying at low budget accommodation. So perhaps really take that into consideration before complaining! You have to expect less to get a little more. The rooms were very clean and there wasn't much to them. The bathrooms were big and I didn't have a problem with them. The staff were very accommodating. I booked a day before I got there by mistake and they didn't charge me nor did they charge me when I had to check out a day earlier. Location is a little out but print out a map from the Hostel to the city so you have an idea.
My door! Room number 26. It was a nightmare. It took me 5 minutes to open it and 5 minutes to close it. But I could hear no one else having these problems.

Gordon on the staff was very helpful. The rooms were good for the price. We were the only ones there so we can only imagine the shared bathroom situation in the high season.

The receptionist was very helpful and spoke excellent English. The hostal has two names: Hotel Dujan and Hostal Omladinski. I think it's because there are two sections. I had booked the Omladinski part, which feels like halls of residence, or an old hospital wing. It's very basic but adequate. The room was clean and very big with huge wardrobes and 2 desks. It was quiet at night and quite near bus stops to get into the old town (or a 20 minute walk, downhill). I would only recommend this to people if they are on a serious budget.
The lack of air-conditioning! Admittedly, I did travel in August - but there was a fan in the room thankfully.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and although the rooms were basic, they were clean and more than adequate. It was very easy to get into town, either on foot or by bus.

Hostel staff very professional, nice and helpfull. It was very hot but the fans in the rooms solved the problem very well
No towels provided and no tools and pans available in the kitchen

The staff were friendly. Bathrooms were clean.
The hotel room was incredibly basic, which would be okay for backpackers, but as a couple on a quick stop over before going back to London, not at all ideal. The beds were no where near each other and there was no mirror in the room and a horrid strip light. I would expect to find this hotel in budget accommodation in Asia but was shocked to be spending 40 euro on somewhere like this. We booked it because we were just staying for one night but it was far out of town and we had to get cabs and buses, which probably meant we spent enough to add up to a decent hotel room.

It was very cheap and worth the money.
It was a bit far to both the beach and the city center.

The reception area was nice and the lift was useful for bringing luggage upstairs. The bedlinen was very clean and room was tidy
There was a horrible smell of urine on the hostel, coming from the toilets. The kitchen had only one glass and no other kitchen utensils whatsoever so preparation and eating meals was impossible. There were only 3 showers for a large number of people, two of these had broken doors and the third one had a broken shower head. long queues for the showers.

They helped us with anything and was always nice. They didnt show any hesitation at all, and didnt expect anything in return. They also had a really good serice with the trolley help when we were leaving. They brought our baggage to the bus station, that was really nice.
it was a little warm at night.

Clean rooms, helpful staff, quiet
Wifi only worked at reception - would be good if it worked in rooms as well.

Recently refurbished, the rooms and bathrooms were clean and practical. The hotel is focused on the younger traveller but for me as a more mature traveller it provided an ideal overnight stop in an overpriced city. Make sure you arrive before 10.00pm when the reception desk closes. Very friendly staff.
